Linda's Fight

Welcome! I have designed this site for my mom, Linda Schoeman, who is battling cancer. On December 21, my parent's came to Stafford to visit over the Christmas/New Year Holiday. On December 29, my mom was complaining of migraine headaches, so my sister Sherryl took my mom to the E.R. My mom was admitted and was given a CAT scan and an MRI. The doctors found lesions on her brain, cancer in 5 organs (including her lungs), as well as blood clots in her lungs due to the cancer. My mom stayed in the hospital and was released, only to be brought back to the hospital via ambulance a few days later because she was having trouble breathing. That time, she stayed in the hospital for 10 days. Currently, she is on numerous pain medications, oxygen, and is going through radiation. She will begin chemotherapy on Monday, January 24, 2011.

We were all blindsided by this completely. My parents have to leave their house in Florida behind so that my mom can stay in Stafford for cancer treatments at Mary Washington Hospital. Not only is cancer a struggle for my mom, but it will be a financial struggle too. My family is not one to ask for monetary help, but would appreciate any donation you can give to help make this battle a little easier.

We are so appreciative of the outpouring of well wishes, prayers, and support from friends and family. This will be a long road, but we are thankful that each of you are by our sides to help us along this journey.

Together We Cry
Together We Laugh
Together We Fight

Sincerely,
The Schoeman, Patten, and Leith Family
